something completely different

took a little break from cloth and thread to attend to something completely different. you may remember me entertaining the idea some weeks back of de-constructing some old industrial pallets to use the lumber on my walls. after countless hours of de-construction, i finally had enough slats to get to work on my first wall. going is slow as the lumber is not large. but i am already loving the rustic results! i can't wait to see it completed and counterpointed with curtains, artwork, and furniture!

I have recently become re inspired by pallets
because of wanting to create a climbing structure in the New OutBack for the goats.
and as i am collecting them one by one around
town for a while i am once again loving their
perfect Readiness, Willingness to become whatever can be imagined. i remember you talking about this before but i wasn't in the building mode at the time. this morning tho, i just want more and more about what you're doing. even if you don't want to blog much on it, you could email??????????
oh, and i saw, at the feedstore in their stack
a few that appear to be painted a pale turquoise and lavendar?????

    3. Thats great, someone needs to recycle those onsies and twosies as well as the semiload quantities.
There is some awesome wood in those pallets and so nice and dry with interesting nail holes!

    1. thanks for the links...and welcome! i absolutely adore dishfunctional designs! though their method of de-construction of pallets is painstakingly slow. i know...i tried it! then i thought about the saws-all and it cuts through the nails like butter!

there are so many wonderful things to do with pallets out there...i am sure i'll be collecting more and more of them in the months to come.

my next project is to build a storage shed out of them. have the floor laid out and ready to start bolting together already! pics to come as i progress!

  6. Love this, especially if the room has Light coming in to balance the rustic wood.
Can not wait to see the finished product.

  8. I, too love this and can't help repeating that it is wood patchworking!! Also, this idea - sometimes it feeds the process to work in a completely different medium for awhile, don't you think?
