from just before the storm hit
here it comes...
tornado clouds moving in by the airport
spinners forming...
lightning and scary clouds...
there are reports of baseball sized hail out from big timber and as far east as columbus...and golf ball sized hail up in the heights and beyond! winds here hit 45-60 mph, with speeds topping 90 mph in surrounding areas. they have settled a bit for the moment.
for now, i and mine are safe, if a little shaken. my thoughts and prayers go out for those still in harm's way, both from this storm and others!

that looks so terrifying, thanks for letting us know you and your household are safe, i hope you stay that way.
ReplyDeleteare you in that so-called "tornado belt"? i don't know the geography over there.
thank you, kaite! no, even though we had terrible one hit here last year, it really is unusual for us here. out on the prairies, yes. but down here in the shelter of the rims? no.
ReplyDeleteoh, and we are too far north for the tornado belt, thankfully.
Just looking at your photos is terrifying. Actually being under those angry clouds must have been quite something. I hope all the old folk were not too shaken. And I'm hoping I'm way too far East for this one!
ReplyDeletethis is so scary.
ReplyDeleteYou might know we got hit on June 1st.... pretty intense, 20 or so miles south, people died, tons of destruction. The storm was crazy. Your photos are amazing - how beautiful and deadly all at once!
ReplyDeleteFantastic photos but terrifying, glad you kept safe.
ReplyDeleteAwe inspiring beautiful and scary...Mother Nature certainly has a vivid way of reminding us She will have the last say....unless of course we blow the planet up...
ReplyDeletenice you are safe...
Just came across this blog, hoping that I would find another dude who does crochet, and I found your page and am just getting tuned in that you are safe from these events of nature...nice blog, and I wish you and all safety.
ReplyDeleteI myself just learned how to crochet a few months ago and am loving it..
Peace
thanks, everyone! yes. scary. awe-inspiring. all of the above and so much more! glad it's over though.
ReplyDeletewelcome, mazzy boy! thanks for the kind wishes. oh, and yes, i do crochet...though not as much as i knit or stitch. so glad you've found your niche with it!
ReplyDeleteMy life! So glad your safe and well, fab pics tho!
ReplyDeletethose photos are scary but fabulous. glad you're all out of harm's way.
ReplyDeletewhat extraordinary beauty and power, yet so destructive to poor little humans quivering in its path. I remember my first understanding and shock that these things happen, staying in California many years ago - England is a very benign place to be!
ReplyDeleteThose photos are just incredible... Hope your weather is settling down.
